Bedtimes, Business, and the Blessing of Eternity

Bedtimes, Business, and the Blessing of Eternity

Bedtime in our house is rarely quiet. Sometimes it feels like chaos. Kids yelling, bargaining for “just five more minutes,” or finding every reason to avoid brushing teeth and getting under the covers. I definitely don’t have all the answers when it comes to getting little ones to bed, but I do know this: every day we’re given with them is a gift, even the hard ones.

One of the things I love about running 3fold Love Co. is that my kids get to walk this journey with me. They’re not just watching from the sidelines, they’re involved. They help with designs, pick out mockups, suggest product descriptions, and even review what goes up in the shop. They get to see the direct result of hard work, teamwork, and creativity. It’s not only constructive, it’s fun…And most importantly, it’s time together.

But what really makes this time meaningful is knowing it’s not just about shirts or designs. It’s about what God is doing in our family. As a father, I get to show my kids that our work, our play, and even our struggles are places where the Lord meets us. The Father reminds us that He is the source of all good things, Jesus teaches us grace and forgiveness in the middle of our messes, and the Holy Spirit breathes creativity and courage into our lives…sometimes even in the small act of designing a hoodie or talking about a new idea for the store.

Lately, heaven has been on our kids’ minds. They’ve been asking deep questions, the kind that catch you off guard as a parent. Just the other day, one of my daughters asked me if she would be able to come back home after she goes to heaven. She wanted to know what it would be like, if she would miss her bed or her room. Those kinds of questions can stop you in your tracks. We roll with it. Right now, we simply tell them he’s. Heaven is the perfect existence for God’s creation, and if that means she’ll get her purple pillow and owl posters, then so be it. I’m certain the Lord would grant it.

Part of why heaven has been on their hearts is because their great-grandmother, my grandmother, is nearing the end of her time here with us. She has cancer, and her body is struggling. It’s painful to watch, but in the middle of it there have been precious moments. The other day my kids sat with her and read stories out of their children’s Bible. Watching them share God’s Word with her, even in such a simple way, felt like a glimpse of eternity. I wish we had done more of that before she was sick, but isn’t that how it always feels? We wish we had more time, that we had said more, prayed more, loved more.

My kids remind me that while our moments here are short, our hope in Christ is eternal. They know that even if we have to say goodbye for now, we will have forever together in God’s kingdom. They believe it simply, like children do. And sometimes it’s Dad who needs to remember that truth the most.

So yes, bedtime is hard. Yes, running a business while raising kids can be messy and unpredictable. But it’s also filled with laughter, creativity, and reminders that the Lord is faithful in every season. At 3Fols Love Co., we don’t just design clothes, we design with purpose. We create with our kids, for our kids, and alongside the God who made us. And for that, we thank Him every single day.

We also thank you for reading our blog and purchasing our products. Thank you.
